ABA PROVINCE : INNER GALAXY GROUP DECLARED PERSONA NON GRATA IN BIAFRALAND
ABA – Captain Nnamdi Eyinnaya is dismayed by the report on the modern enslavement of workers by Chinese steel company, Inner Galaxy Group, located at Umuahala, Obuzor Asa, in Ukwa West LGA of defunct Abia State.
The report revealed that during the lockdown imposed by the occupational Nigeria government, the Chinese company held their workers hostage and forced them to continue working under dehumanising conditions. The steel company is heavily protected by the occupational Army and Police Force. The DPO of Obehie Division of the occupational police force is at beck and call of the enslavement camp.
The workers tediously work 13-hours daily, they were not given offer or employment letters, no leave is granted and arbitrary sack is a norm. The male workers are physically assaulted and the females harassed sexually by the Chinese.
The Aba Adjutant has directed the Provincial P.A on statistic and record, Staff SGT. Michael Obumneme, to take cognise of the activities of every Chinese company domiciled in the province.
SSG. Obumneme must strictly enforce Article 15 of the African Charter which states that “Every individual shall have the right to work under equitable and satisfactory conditions, and shall receive equal pay for equal work.”
The lives and wellbeing of every denizens in the province is of utmost priority declares the Adjutant.
CPT. Eyinnaya described as insensitive and economic sabotage the closure of Ariaria Industrial market by defunct governor Okezie Ikpeazu. The inauguration of a committee to investigate the recent fire incident at the Bakassi Line of the market with a charge to ascertain the immediate and remote causes of the fire outbreak and the attack on Fire Service personnel on a rescue mission to the market is an act of playing to the gallery and an exercise in futile.
Isn’t a shame that the whole of Aba comprising of nine local government has only one functioning fire fighting vehicle? The bigger vehicle used for fire fighting has spoilt since October 2019 and still parked at the premises of the defunct fire service.
Okezie Ikpeazu is a true description of the selfish and corruption embedded political office holders in the evil contraption called Nigeria.
