NNEWI PROVINCE: THE CITIZENS SUFFERS AS WILLIE OBIANO AND ATHUR EZE BATTLES FOR SUPREMACY
NNEWI – Major Ununna Ekelechi, the Nnewi Provincial P.A on statistic and record watched on Friday 4th September 2020 as defunct governor Willie Obiano showily walked into the arena of the Ekwueme Square for the presentation of Brand New IVM Ikenga SUV each to 130 traditional heads of the defunct Anambra state loyal to him.
These allurement worth over N10 million each given to those 130 traditional rulers were tagged “car gifts” an appreciation for standing with Obiano as he continues in the battle for political relevancy in the defunct state against a business magnate, Arthur Eze.
A while ago, Arthur Eze had gifted Lexus LX 570 Jeep each valued at over N50 million to the 12 traditional rulers suspended by the defunct governor after they visited Aso-Rock presidential villa accompanied by the businessman.
It is unattractive that the duo chose this depressing times to display the deepness of their coffers.
It is unfair that Arthur and Willie do not genuinely care about how the denizens are faring after the forced lockdown for COVID-19 pandemic.
It doesn’t seem right that even with the increment of fuel price and electricity bill by the occupying Nigeria government the Biafran people have to endure a misplaced show of affluence particularly from the defunct state governor.
It is more depressing that the people in defunct Anambra state have to be stuck in traffic for long hours everyday due to the bad state of the roads while Willie Obiano seeks political relevance with public funds.
Most of the Primary Health Centres in the defunct state is in shambles and an eyesore despite the COVID-19 intervention funds.
What happened to the Greater Onitsha Water Scheme initiated in 2013 that if completed would have provided running water to homes in Onitsha, Nnewi and its environs? Rather than complete such important project that had already gulped over N1.8 billion, Obiano prefers to squander public funds on petty fight for power.
As a matter of fact, most of the sites for the water schemes are currently been sold to private individuals and completed boreholes have been destroyed.
The sole and biggest tragedy that Indigenous Biafrans have suffered in the forced union named Nigeria is the tragedy of leadership.
Leaders who prefer servitude to the Fulani Oligarchy because it enables them avoid accountability and transparency in the use of public funds.
It is unfortunate that individuals like Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe, Chukwuemeka Ezeife, Chukwuma Soludo and others who ought to be cautioning Willie Obiano are the ones applauding his despicable acts.
Nnewi Provincial Adjutant, Major Chukwudum Nwafor reaffirmed that the day of reckoning shall surely come as always stated by former BNG leader, General Innocent Orji.
