BIAFRAN NATIONAL GUARD MOURNS JERRY RAWLINGS
The Biafran National Guard [BNG] mourns with the people of Ghana especially the family of former President, Jerry John Rawlings whose death occurred on Thursday 12th of November 2020. He was aged 73.
The news was received with grief by the rank and file of the Biafran Transitional Government [BTG] and immediate directives given for a 7-day mourning period in honour of the 1st President of the 4th Republic in Ghana.
His Excellency, Jerry Rawlings was born on 22nd June 1947 in Accra, Ghana, to Victoria Agbotui and James Ramsey. Rawlings attended Achimota School and a military academy at Teshie. He was married to Nana Konadu Agyeman and they had three daughters and one son.
The ideology of Jerry Rawlings is well-embedded in the Biafran National Guard as former leader, General Innocent Orji is a protégé of the Ghanaian Flight Lieutenant who in 1979 led the Armed Forces Revolutionary Council to rid the country from corruption and social injustice.
Former BNG leader, General Innocent Orji having studied and researched on the social and political ideology of Jerry Rawlings created the military wing for the restoration of Biafra sovereignty that is centred on liberating, protecting and upholding the human rights and fundamental freedoms of Indigenous Biafrans as stipulated by the United Nations Charter, African Charter and other international law on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.
Jerry Rawlings’ exemplary life of discipline, bravery and hatred for injustice is epitomized in the ideology that guides every personnel of the Biafran National Guard. BNG strongly supports Jerry Rawlings’ beliefs on the unification of Africa, liberty from pre-colonial powers, the restoration and development of African culture.
The Biafran Transitional Government urges the government and people of Ghana to immortalise the Statesman and uphold his efforts towards the development of the country and Africa.
In conclusion, BTG admonishes the youths of Biafran origin to study and research on the ideology of the African hero in order to gain wisdom and not be deceived by the evil agents from the Alliance For New Nigeria.
